What is Youth Arts Online?
An accessible online space to create and connect.
Each week, join Mal and Ink on Zoom to try a different creative activity and connect as a community.
This is a six week project running over the Summer holidays and we would love to welcome you to come to as many sessions as you would like.
When are the workshops?
Workshop 1 – Tuesday July 4th at 7:00-8:30pm (with breaks)
Welcome Games: Relaxed session to get to know each other and play some games – but don’t worry if you can’t make it we will do introductions at the start of each session.
Workshop 2 – Tuesday July 11th at 7:00-8:30pm (with breaks)
Character Creation: Do you have a favourite character, maybe two or three? What would happen if you took the best bits from each one and combined them?
Workshop 3 – Tuesday July 18th at 7:00-8:30pm (with breaks)
Stage Boxes: Miniature models of theatre stages can be used by designers but also to make a show more accessible. Lets make one – what has the right colours, the right textures?
Workshop 4 – Tuesday July 25th at 7:00-8:30pm (with breaks)
Storytelling and Plot: Combining the brains of everyone in the room lets make a story together.
Workshop 5 – Tuesday August 1st at 7:00-8:30pm (with breaks)
Intro to film: Let’s play with cameras – we won’t have time to make a whole film in this session but we’re excited to have fun trying!
Workshop 6 – Tuesday August 8th at 7:00-8:30pm (with breaks)
Summer Holiday Postcards: What would your dream holiday be? Where would you go, who would be with you, what would you see?
Where will the workshops happen?
The workshops will happen on the video platform “Zoom”.
When you sign up, you will be emailed a link to join the “Zoom meeting” for each workshop.
If you need support to use Zoom, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help!
Who runs the project?
BOP Youth Arts Online is facilitated by Mal (they/them) and Ink (they/them).

Mal is a participatory artist and filmmaker from the Highlands who loves working collaboratively across art forms. They are passionate about building accessible, open, and nurturing spaces where young people can utilise the arts for self-expression and building community. Mal loves live music, watching weird films, and spending time with their many houseplants.
Ink Asher Hemp (they/them) is a self taught queer, disabled, creator, facilitator, activist, theatre (trouble) maker. They live in Edinburgh with 84 house plants and a little stripey kitten called Neep. It’s time to build tomorrow through the stories we tell ourselves today because the future is fiction till we breathe it.
